Emergency Child CareEmergency Child Care
Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, In CV Aquatic Centre (Waveroom)

This comprehensive, hands-on course is for individuals who need training for child care or early childhood education work, or who simply want more knowledge to respond to babies’ and children’s injuries and emergencies at home. This course covers the skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to choking, cardiovascular emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Time: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, In Coast Westerly Hotel, Courtenay

This course is WorkSafeBC Approved and includes adult choking and CPR, as well as emergency scene management, shock, spinal injuries, minor wound management, major bleeding, poisons and minor burns. You must be 16 years of age to take this course, photo ID is required. Certification is valid for 3 years.

Prenatal Baby CPRPrenatal Baby CPR
Time: 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm, In Courtenay Health Unit, England Street

This low-cost course is designed for expecting parents or parents with children less than one year of age. We will cover what to do if your baby goes unconscious, starts choking or stops breathing. This course is offered once a month and pre-registration is required. $5.00 per couple.
